SilverQuant® Protein Labeling and Detection Kit expands the utility of the Gentel Proteomics Multi-System™

The kit delivers highly efficient biotin labeling of serum proteins using Universal Linkage System (ULS™) technology from KREATECH Biotechnology B.V. along with providing exceptionally sensitive detection of biotinylated biomolecules using Eppendorf's patented SilverQuant® technology, both licensed by Gentel.

The ULS-based protein labeling is extremely stable in aqueous solutions, compatible with a wide variety of buffers including Tris and Glycine, salts and detergents, and is independent of pH. The linkage forms a stable coordinative bond to proteins through sulfur and nitrogen-containing side-chains of Cysteine, Histidine, and Methionine and is less disruptive to protein-protein interactions than the Lysine targeting mechanisms of Isothiocyanate labeling (ITC) or N-hydroxysuccinimide labeling (NHS).

The SilverQuant®-based protein detection uses a gold-catalyzed silver deposition technology to detect any biotinylated molecule, generating light grey-to-black spots that are visible to the naked eye that typically achieves measurably improved sensitivity compared to fluorescence detection. These features equip researchers with the same tools found in Gentel SilverQuant® Array Kits and are compatible with scan to analysis functionality of the Gentel Proteomics Multi-System.
