  • Accelerate your research or access to the market

Gentel can also advise and/or provide:

  • What types of substrates is best suited to your applications
  • Where to get source materials
  • What types of controls to include
  • What types of sample arraying buffers to use
  • Optimal array layouts
  • How to use, handle and store the arrays after production
  • Structural QC
  • Functional QC
  • Custom printed slides processing

Process for Designing Your Custom Array:

  • Choose the type of array you would like to do.
    - Protein, DNA, cell lysate, peptide, glycan.
    - Protein-protein, sandwich assay, reverse array, single-capture antibody array.
  • Decide on the number of capture probes and controls to be printed and the number of replicates of each probe.
  • Notify us of the type of buffer your capture probes are suspended in. We recommend our Gentel Printing Buffer (Product No. 2-1012) for protein and lysate printing.
  • Pick a substrate or slide type that you would like your samples to be printed on. We recommend using our thin-nitrocellulose slides.
  • Select the number of replicate array grids per slide. Our SIMplex grids are ideal for multiplexing 1×8, 2×8, and 3×8 replicate array grids on standard 1" by 3" slides.
  • Decide on the layout of your arrays. This includes the spot to spot printing distance (300-500 µm recommended), number of drops/spot (about 300-400 pL per spot) or desired volume of printed material, order of capture probes within the array, and spot dimensions of your arrays.
  • Choose the number of substrates or slides you would like printed.
